bootleg cheeseburger

Terms and conditions

Bootleg Cheeseburger. Last updated October 26, 2026.

1. Who we are

Bootleg Cheeseburger, LLC ("Bootleg Cheeseburger", "we", "us"), 418 Broadway #5960, Albany, NY 12207, USA, makes software ("our apps") and runs bootlegcheeseburger.com ("the site"). These terms are an agreement between you and Bootleg Cheeseburger, LLC and cover your use of our apps, including any you buy from us, and of the site.

If an app comes with its own license agreement (shown when you install or first open it, or published with its source code), that agreement governs the app and these terms cover anything it does not.

2. Accepting these terms

By buying, installing or using any of our apps, or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not buy or use them. If we change these terms, the new version applies once it is posted here, and your continued use means you accept it.

3. Ordering and payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Your purchase is governed by Paddle's buyer terms. The price, any sales tax or VAT, the currency, and whether a purchase is one-time or recurring are shown at checkout before you pay; Paddle collects the payment and any applicable taxes. For help with an app itself, write to us at support@bootlegcheeseburger.com.

4. Licenses for paid apps

When you buy one of our apps you receive a serial. Subject to these terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license for one person to use that app. How many computers a serial covers and which updates are included are stated on the app's listing on this site and in its license agreement at the time you buy. Unless they say otherwise, the license is perpetual: when the included updates end, the version you have keeps working for good, and versions released after that are not included.

Activating a computer uses one of the serial's seats. You can release a seat from within the app and use it on another computer. The license is personal: you may not share, sell, rent, lend or transfer your serial without our written consent.

5. Free, open-source and beta apps

Some of our apps are free, and some are published as open source under the license in their source repository (for example, the MIT License). That license governs your use of the source code. Beta and pre-release versions are offered for testing, may change or stop working, and are provided as is.

6. Ownership

Our apps are licensed, not sold. Except for code we publish under an open-source license, we and our licensors keep all ownership of our apps and the site, including their software, design, sounds, names and logos, and all intellectual property rights in them. Any sample content included with an app is licensed for use within that app only.

7. Activation and license checks

Paid apps check their serial with our licensing service (Keygen) when you activate them and from time to time afterwards. They do not need to be online to keep working, and there is no offline limit. A purchase that is refunded or charged back ends the license and suspends the serial; the next time the app checks the serial online on each computer activated with it, the app returns to its demo, or stops working if it has no demo.

8. Acceptable use

You may not:

9. Your content

Our apps work on files you choose, such as audio, sessions and notes. Those files stay on your computer and we claim no ownership of them or of anything you make with our apps. You are responsible for having the rights to the material you use and to what you make from it.

If you send us something to publish, such as a submission to a community database, you confirm you have the right to share it and you allow us to publish, edit and distribute it.

If you believe our apps or the site are being used to infringe your rights, write to support@bootlegcheeseburger.com with the details and we will look into it. We may end the license of anyone who repeatedly infringes others' rights.

10. Availability

We work to keep our apps, the site and our services running well, but we do not guarantee that they will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at all times. We may change, improve or stop offering any app, feature or service.

11. Refunds

You can get a full refund on any purchase within 30 days. See our refund policy.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your license or access if you materially breach these terms, if payment is not received or is refunded or charged back, if we reasonably suspect fraud or a security risk, or for repeated or serious violations. You may stop using our apps at any time.

When a license ends, an app with a free demo returns to the demo on your computers and you must stop using it beyond the demo; any other app stops working on your computers and you must stop using it and delete your copies. Sections 6, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 16 survive the end of a license.

13. Warranty disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, our apps and the site are provided "as is" and "as available", and we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of our apps or the site. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app the claim relates to, or US$50 if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited or excluded by contract under the law where you live.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bootleg Cheeseburger, LLC and its members from any claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you use with our apps or send to us, your unlawful use of our apps or the site, or your violation of these terms.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you have a dispute with us, please write to us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If it is not resolved within 30 days, either of us may bring it before the state or federal courts located in the State of New York, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep any right to bring a claim in the courts where you live and the protection of any mandatory law of your country.

17. General

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may assign them to an affiliate or to a successor in a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business.

Force majeure. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of internet or hosting providers, natural disasters or government action.

Entire agreement. These terms, together with our privacy notice, our refund policy and any app's own license agreement, are the whole agreement between you and us. Purchases are also governed by Paddle's buyer terms, an agreement between you and Paddle (see section 3). If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right, we have not waived it.
